We Are All Disciples

Evangelism

Sunday, March 26: Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:16-20

Having been baptized in Christ, we are all disciples and have been instructed to teach them to obey everything that I have commanded of you.

The Webster Dictionary’s definition of teach is: impart knowledge or practical skill, to educate, instruct.  Not all of us have the gift of putting our faith in words.  But, by living a life that sets you apart, by creating a blanket for Project Linus, by donating items to the Women’s Shelter or by telling a friend who is in crisis you will keep them in your prayers you are following Jesus’ way of love.  Evangelism can take the form of demonstrating a daily walk with Christ.

But some doubtedthese were men who were with Jesus daily, saw His miracles and heard His own words.  Think how important it is that we keep strong in our faith through prayer, studying the Word and worshipping together.  Only then can we share our faith with others.

But look at the promise Jesus give to us as His disciples I am with you always, to the end of the age.  This promise is one we know that will be kept.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Keep me strong in my faith.  Help me to live a life that will bring others to know your love and mercy as you have commanded of me, your disciple.  And may I always remember your Promise.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
