Give Me the Grace

So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ that you might belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.

-- Romans 7:4

We die to the law.

We are joined not to a list of rules but to Christ.

The pathway to love is the path of a personal, Spirit-dependent relationship with the risen Christ, not the resolve to keep the commandments. To love Christ is to emulate Him.

I would like to share a little story with you.

A few years ago our family gathered for a Christmas Day celebration. My nephew and his wife have 5 children. My niece and her husband had 2 at that time. One more has joined the ranks since that day. It was a joyfully chaotic time with the opening of all the presents. Kids were running every where at once. One of the little ones was behaving quite poorly ... grabbing presents ... not sharing ... and worst of all --- WHINING!

Her older cousin, Michael (age: 5) looked at her and asked: "Lauren, What would Jesus do?"

I would love to tell you that from that second on Lauren was an angel --- didn't happen! But, Michael taught me a great lesson. This little guy hit the nail on the head for me. To live life to its fullest I need simply ask:

"What would Jesus do?"

Please God give me the grace and insight to answer that question and do what Jesus wants me to do as He would do it.
