Holy Trinity's New Choir Director

Neil F. Brown comes to Holy Trinity with a dual career in church music ministry and education. His passion is to enable others as they seek to express their faith and to develop their talents. He served as Director of Music Ministry at the United Methodist Church of Red Bank for more than ten years. Neil grew up in a Christian home; his father and mother planted mission churches throughout the Northeast. He professed his faith in Jesus and was baptized at age 6. One year later, he began to serve as church pianist in the local rural congregation. Thus, 2016 will mark fifty years of music ministry in a variety of Christian faith traditions. Mr. Brown graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1980 with a bachelor of music degree in piano performance. While at OBU, he was a member of Bison Glee Club and served a number of churches as pianist/organist. In 1988, he earned the master of music degree from the University of Kansas with a concentration in choral conducting. At Kansas, he directed the University’s Glee Club. Additionally, Neil studied religious education, administration and church music at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. An experienced educator, Neil has worked with students of diverse backgrounds at the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels. He has been guest conductor, workshop leader, and accompanist for a number of national and regional conventions and festivals, including the adult and youth choir festivals at Ocean Grove.
